Matthew Soeth is the Executive Director of the Thriving in Games Group, a global nonprofit dedicated to supporting video game development and fostering safe online gaming environment.
With extensive experience in trust and safety across major platforms, Matt previously served as Head of Trust and Safety at Spectrum Labs supporting gaming, dating, and social platforms, and was an early member of TikTok's Global Trust & Safety Team focusing on brand safety and compliance. Matt served as a senior advisor for Tremau, a global trust and safety advisory firm specializing in compliance and regulatory processes, Matt provides strategic guidance to technology companies navigating complex trust and safety challenges and tech regulation requirements. Matt was an active part of Atlantic Council’s recent Task Force for a Trustworthy Future Web, speaking at their Washington, DC launch event for its related report, Scaling Trust on the Web.
Drawing from his 15 years in education and advisory work with multiple nonprofits and tech companies, Matt brings a unique perspective to gaming safety, combining regulatory expertise with deep understanding of platform governance and community building in online gaming environments.
Most recently, Matt is launching a podcast called Safety is Sexy. This weekly series is dedicated to taking complex online safety issues and breaking them down into easy to understand concepts. The goal is to expand the trust and safety landscape to more professionals looking to make an impact in online safety whether you work at a platform, a school, civil society, or government regulation.
