Matthew (Matt) Soeth is the Executive Director of the Thriving in Games Group (TIGG), a nonprofit that helps studios build healthy communities and safer online play. He brings deep Trust & Safety experience across major platforms. Previously, Matt led Trust & Safety at Spectrum Labs, supporting gaming, dating, and social apps, and was an early member of TikTok's Global Trust & Safety team focused on brand safety and compliance. He has also served as a senior advisor to Tremau, a trust & safety advisory firm specializing in compliance and regulatory processes, guiding technology companies through complex trust & safety challenges and tech regulation.
Matt was part of the Atlantic Council's Task Force for a Trustworthy Future Web and spoke at its Washington, DC launch event for the report Scaling Trust on the Web.
A former educator with 15 years in schools, Matt blends policy expertise with on-the-ground community building and developer partnerships. He advises nonprofits and technology companies on safety-by-design, content moderation, and well-being in games, and regularly engages with industry, policymakers, and researchers on platform governance and online safety.
Matt's work centers on practical, measurable improvements to player experience, pairing evidence-based guidance with tools teams can use in production.
He hosts Safety is [REDACTED], a weekly podcast that takes complex online safety issues and breaks them into clear, approachable conversations with the people doing the work, whether they're at a platform, a school, in civil society, or in government.
